Across the country and around the world, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, schools, nonprofits, and service groups work every day to support military-connected children and families.
Their work is essential. It is trusted. And it is deeply rooted in local communities.
The Military Child World Expo Foundation (MCWEF) does not exist to replace that work—or to compete with it.
.

MCWEF exists to amplify it.
Just as service members have institutions that bring coherence, visibility, and shared purpose—such as AUSA for the Army or the USO for active duty, military-connected children deserve a unifying home of belonging, identity, and recognition.
That is the role MCWEF was created to serve.
Military-connected children move between systems. They cross school districts, states, countries, and cultures. Along the way, they are supported by many organizations—often working in parallel, sometimes in isolation, always with good intent. What has been missing is a shared civic and cultural home that connects those efforts, honors contributions, and preserves legacy.
MCWEF brings silos together, not by centralizing control, but by creating common ground.
The Home of the Military Child is not a single program or organization. It is a framework, one that recognizes that every organization serving military-connected children already has a voice, a role, and a contribution to protect.
Within this framework:
Community organizations remain rooted in their missions
Faith-based groups continue their service and care
Schools educate and support transitions
Nonprofits and NGOs address specific needs
Service and veteran organizations extend family-centered support
MCWEF’s role is to ensure these efforts are seen, connected, and preserved, not fragmented or forgotten.
Participation in building the Home of the Military Child is not about giving up identity. It is about strengthening it. It is about recognizing that the collective impact of many organizations, when aligned, creates something enduring: a national sense of belonging for military-connected children.
This work carries responsibility. There is a duty to preserve the stories, contributions, and cultural identity of military-connected youth. There is a duty to protect their dignity and ensure their experiences are honored, not just in moments, but across generations.
MCWEF invites organizations, educators, leaders, and communities to participate in this shared stewardship. Not as competitors. Not as replacements. But as partners in shaping a lasting legacy.
Every organization already serving military-connected children has a place in this home.
The work is already happening.
The invitation now is to build it, together. (or in the future). Support the Military Child World Expo 2026 by attending or as an exhibitor. www.themilitarychildworldexpo.com
