Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Commitment

The Military Child World Expo Foundation (MCWEF) affirms its commitment to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended, and applicable federal, state, and local accessibility laws and regulations.

This ADA Addendum supplements MCWEF’s Accessibility Statement and applies to MCWEF’s programs, services, events, digital platforms, and public communications.

Non-Discrimination on the Basis of Disability

MCWEF does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the administration of its programs, services, activities, or employment practices.

Individuals with disabilities are entitled to full and equal access to MCWEF offerings, including reasonable accommodations and auxiliary aids where required by law.

Reasonable Accommodations

MCWEF will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, unless doing so would result in undue hardship or fundamentally alter the nature of the program or activity.

Reasonable accommodations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Alternative formats for written materials

  • Assistance with registration or participation processes

  • Physical accessibility considerations for in-person events

  • Auxiliary aids or services for effective communication

Accommodation requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Digital Accessibility

MCWEF is committed to providing accessible digital content and endeavors to align its website and online materials with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Digital accessibility efforts include compatibility with assistive technologies, keyboard navigation, readable text contrast, and accessible document formats where feasible.

Event Accessibility

For in-person events, convenings, and programs, MCWEF seeks to:

  • Select accessible venues when available

  • Provide clear accessibility information in advance

  • Respond to accommodation requests in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with venue partners to address accessibility needs

Accessibility accommodations for events should be requested in advance when possible to allow for appropriate coordination.

Requesting an Accommodation

Individuals who require an accommodation to participate in MCWEF programs, services, events, or digital offerings may submit a request by contacting:

Email: info@mcwef.org
Subject Line: ADA Accommodation Request

To help us respond effectively, requests should include:

  • The nature of the accommodation requested

  • The program, service, or event involved

  • Contact information for follow-up

MCWEF will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly and in good faith.

Third-Party Facilities and Platforms

Some MCWEF programs, events, or digital services may be hosted in facilities or on platforms not owned or directly controlled by MCWEF. While MCWEF works to partner with accessible venues and platforms, it cannot guarantee full ADA compliance of third-party providers.

MCWEF encourages individuals to notify us if accessibility barriers are encountered so we may assist where possible.

Continuous Improvement

MCWEF views accessibility as an ongoing responsibility. We regularly review policies, practices, and platforms to identify opportunities for improvement and to enhance access for individuals with disabilities.
