The National Association For Military Connected Children
Purpose Statement
The Military Child World Expo Foundation (MCWEF) is the National Association for Military-Connected Children, serving as a permanent institution dedicated to recognition, care, cultural identity, and belonging for children growing up in military-connected families worldwide.

MCWEF exists to ensure that military-connected children are not treated as an invisible or secondary population, but are recognized as a distinct community with unique developmental, cultural, and social realities.

“Operations began in January 2024 under the Military Children’s Six Foundation (MC6), with formal establishment and transfer to the Military Child World Expo Foundation completed in November 2025.”

Our Role as a National Association
As a national association, MCWEF provides:
-
Institutional leadership and stewardship
-
A unifying national framework for engagement and recognition
-
Cultural and narrative preservation
-
Cross-sector coordination among schools, faith institutions, VSOs, CBOs, and partners
-
Continuity beyond individual programs or events
MCWEF does not replace existing organizations. It connects, elevates, and sustains efforts on behalf of military-connected children within a shared national framework.
The Home of the Military Child
MCWEF serves as the Home of the Military Child, safeguarding identity, culture, and belonging for children whose lives are shaped by service, mobility, and global experience.

Through cultural stewardship, arts and humanities, and youth storytelling, MCWEF affirms military-connected childhood as a lived experience worthy of preservation and respect.

Memberships & Chapters
As a membership-based national association, MCWEF engages individuals, families, institutions, and communities through a structured Membership and Chapter model.

Membership and Chapters provide local and sector-based engagement while remaining accountable to national standards, principles, and ethical commitments.
Our Stewardship
The Military Child World Expo was originally created by the Military Children’s Six Foundation and is now governed and operated by the Military Child World Expo Foundation as a permanent national institution.

This structure ensures long-term continuity, accountability, and national scale.
